DIC Coordinates the Second NATURE-DEMO Consortium Meeting to Accelerate Nature-Based Solutions Across Europe

DigInnoCent s.r.o., coordinator of the Horizon Europe NATURE-DEMO project, successfully organised the project’s second biannual consortium meeting, bringing together partners from across Europe to review progress and coordinate the next stage of project implementation.

The meeting provided an important opportunity for consortium members to assess achievements during the first months of the project, strengthen collaboration across work packages, and align activities that will support the design, implementation and validation of nature-based solutions (NbS) in diverse European demonstration sites.

Driving Collaboration Across the Consortium

As project coordinator, DigInnoCent led the strategic discussions, ensuring that scientific research, digital innovation, demonstration site preparation and stakeholder engagement remain fully aligned with the project’s objectives.

Throughout the meeting, partners presented progress across technical and management activities, including:

  • development of common methodologies for assessing multi-hazard climate risks;
  • preparation of demonstration sites across participating regions;
  • progress in the Digital Support Platform that will assist decision-makers in planning and evaluating nature-based solutions;
  • establishment of monitoring frameworks and key performance indicators;
  • coordination of communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement activities.

The discussions highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, combining expertise from engineering, environmental science, digital technologies and regional planning to develop practical and scalable climate adaptation solutions.

Preparing for the Next Implementation Phase

A key focus of the meeting was ensuring consistency between activities carried out across all demonstration regions. Partners reviewed technical requirements, exchanged experiences from local stakeholder engagement, and agreed on the next milestones for the project’s implementation phase.

Special attention was given to ensuring that local authorities, infrastructure managers and community stakeholders remain actively involved throughout the development and deployment of nature-based solutions.

Leading European Innovation

As coordinator, DigInnoCent continues to oversee project management, facilitate collaboration between consortium partners, and ensure the timely delivery of project objectives.

By bringing together leading research institutions, public authorities and technology providers, NATURE-DEMO is establishing a strong foundation for demonstrating how nature-based solutions can improve climate resilience while supporting sustainable regional development throughout Europe.
