SETO Kickoff Meeting

Our team at DigInnoCent s.r.o. (DIC) contributed to the inaugural meeting of the Smart Enforcement of Transport Operation (the SETO project), funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme, that was commenced on June 20-21, 2023, at the University College Dublin. The SETO initiative aspires to lay the foundation for cutting-edge, future-proof smart transport enforcement systems in both multimodal and cross-border contexts.

At its core, SETO will introduce a ground-breaking middleware in the form of a digital Platform. This Platform will harness data from an extensive array of sources, including sensors and IoT-enabled devices, strategically deployed on vehicles, vessels, cargo, and more. Additionally, SETO will simplify the digitisation of physical objects, such as scans of documents. Ultimately, the project aims to foster a more transparent enforcement process, heralding a competitive and fairer European transport market characterised by reduced corruption, fewer accidents, and diminished tensions among transport operators.

The kick-off event featured a comprehensive presentation of the SETO project to a diverse group of stakeholders from the transport industry, setting the stage for collaborative efforts to transform the sector. The consortium, comprised of 14 partners from seven different European countries, engaged in two days of productive discussions regarding the project's initial operational steps. As the SETO project moves forward, it promises to be a pivotal force in reshaping and enhancing the European transport landscape, driving it towards a more competitive, transparent, and sustainable future.

The SETO (Smart Enforcement of Transport Operation) project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme, is a collaborative effort involving 14 partners from seven European countries. SETO aims to revolutionise smart transport enforcement in multimodal and cross-border contexts through the introduction of a cutting-edge digital Platform. By harnessing data from a wide range of sources and simplifying digitisation processes, SETO seeks to promote transparency and fairness in the European transport market, increasing safety and transparency.
