Job opening - Researcher for Climate Adaptation
DigInnoCent s.r.o. (DIC) invites applicants to join as a “Researcher for Climate Adaptation” and contribute to the pioneering NATURE-DEMO project, which aims to create, validate, scale, and sustain Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for enhancing climate resilience in critical European infrastructure. The NATURE-DEMO project, funded under the EU's Horizon Programme, offers an exciting opportunity to create a lasting impact while working with leading organisations in this vital area. DIC is the Coordinator of NATURE-DEMO and is seeking a passionate and experienced Researcher. The successful candidate will be pivotal in supporting the development and demonstration of innovative NbS to increase the climate resilience of critical infrastructure across Europe.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in cataloguing NbS relevant to protecting diverse infrastructures.
- Assist in parameterisation of NbS for integration into digital tools.
- Contribute to the development of a novel climate risk modelling framework.
- Analyse adaptation pathways and risk reduction potentials for NbS.
- Work with an advanced observation network and digital twins to assess NbS interactions.
- Support the validation of digitally enabled NbS methodologies through real-world cases.
- Collaborate with international partners, including industrial players, academic institutions, NGOs, and government authorities.
- PhD in environmental science, climate science, civil engineering, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 3 years experience with applied climate change adaptation research.
- Demonstrable expertise in NbS, climate risk assessment, and resilience planning.
- Proficiency in English and Czech, with strong data analysis, modelling, and visualisation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse, international team
- Direct experience with implementing NbS for infrastructure resilience.
- Knowledge of the targeted demonstration regions (the Czech Republic and the Alps) and existing stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with GIS, remote sensing, and digital twin technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact academic research.
- PhD in environmental science, climate science, civil engineering, or a closely related field.

- Demonstrable expertise in NbS, climate risk assessment, and resilience planning.
- Proficiency in English and Czech, with strong data analysis, modelling, and visualisation skills.
