DURATRANS Consortium Meeting in Zagreb Marks One Year of Progress

DURATRANS Consortium Meeting in Zagreb Marks One Year of Progress

On 27 May 2025, the partners of the DURATRANS project convened for their first
annual Consortium Meeting at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing
(FER), University of Zagreb. Hosted by our Croatian partner, this in-person meeting
provided an excellent opportunity to reflect on the first year of project activities and
set the course for the next stages of work.
Funded under M-ERA.NET 2023, the DURATRANS project is developing
sustainable, highly durable nanowire-based flexible transparent conductive
surfaces—a key enabling technology for next-generation electronics. With a strong
emphasis on material resilience, environmental performance, and industrial
applicability, DURATRANS is poised to impact sectors ranging from consumer
electronics to energy and smart materials.

Meeting Highlights
Partner Presentations and Technical Updates
The morning sessions featured presentations from each partner, sharing insights into
progress made over the past year. Topics included material synthesis, mechanical
and chemical durability testing, process optimization, and the latest results.
Planning of Deliverables and Future Activities
In the afternoon, discussions turned toward aligning the work plan for the upcoming
months, finalizing the structure of pending deliverables, and coordinating inter-
partner collaboration. Special attention was given to the integration of sustainability
assessments and scalability considerations into the material development process.
Zagreb Experience
The meeting concluded with a relaxed evening walk through Zagreb’s charming
Upper Town, followed by a consortium dinner.

International Collaboration at the Core
DURATRANS is proud to bring together expertise from across Europe:


– University of Turku (Coordinator)


– Tampere University


– University of Zagreb (FER)


– DigInnoCent s.r.o.
Each partner plays a unique and complementary role in the development and
validation of the transparent conductive surfaces, with contributions spanning
nanomaterial synthesis, device integration, performance evaluation, and
commercialization pathways.
As the project enters its second year, the consortium is energized by the progress
made and the innovation potential ahead. The meeting in Zagreb reaffirmed our
shared commitment to advancing flexible, transparent, and sustainable
electronics—and doing so with collaborative strength.
Stay tuned for more updates from DURATRANS as we move toward our next milestones!
