The DURATRANS project consortium convened for its annual project meeting on 6–7 May 2025 in Liberec, Czech Republic, hosted by Digital InnoCent Ltd. The gathering brought together partners from four countries for a highly productive review of research progress and planning for the project’s next phase.
DURATRANS (2024–2027) is a collaborative international research project focused on developing sustainable, highly durable nanowire-based flexible transparent conductive surfaces for advanced electronics. The project is funded under the M-ERA.NET framework by the Research Council of Finland, the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TAČR), and the Ministry of Science and Education of Croatia.
The consortium includes the University of Turku, Finland (project coordinator); the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) at the University of Zagreb, Croatia; Tampere University, Finland; and Digital InnoCent Ltd., Czech Republic. DIC’s Dr. Mohamed Eldessouki represented the company at the meeting.
The project is advancing strongly. To date, seven high-impact research articles have been published, with a further six or more in the pipeline. Publications span flexible electronics, sustainable one-dimensional nanomaterials, the underlying physics of conductive surface behaviour, and sustainability assessment outcomes — reflecting the project’s genuinely multidisciplinary character.
Partners also took the opportunity to explore the Liberec region, which served as an excellent host for what proved to be an energetic and forward-looking meeting. With exciting results anticipated in the project’s remaining years, DIC will continue to share updates as DURATRANS progresses.
