Two years after the launch of the Horizon Europe NATURE-DEMO project, DigInnoCent s.r.o. brought together consortium partners in Brașov, Romania, to review achievements, coordinate future activities and prepare the project for its next major phase of implementation.
As project coordinator, DigInnoCent continues to guide collaboration across an international consortium dedicated to developing innovative nature-based solutions that strengthen resilience to climate-related hazards while supporting sustainable regional development.
Celebrating Two Years of Progress
The Brașov consortium meeting marked an important milestone in the project’s evolution.
During the first two years, the consortium has established a comprehensive scientific and technical foundation for implementing nature-based solutions across diverse European environments.
Key achievements include:
completion of common assessment methodologies;
significant progress in the Digital Support Platform;
development of demonstration site implementation plans;
establishment of monitoring frameworks and performance indicators;
expansion of stakeholder engagement activities throughout participating regions.
These accomplishments provide the basis for the practical implementation and long-term evaluation of innovative climate adaptation measures.
Coordinating the Transition to Demonstration Activities
A central objective of the Brașov meeting was coordinating the transition from project planning to operational implementation.
Under DigInnoCent’s leadership, partners reviewed implementation schedules for each demonstration site, discussed technical readiness and aligned monitoring methodologies that will enable consistent evaluation of project outcomes across Europe.
The consortium also coordinated future communication, dissemination and exploitation activities to maximise the impact of project results beyond the lifetime of NATURE-DEMO.
Strengthening European Collaboration
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of close collaboration between research organisations, regional authorities, infrastructure managers and local stakeholders.
By coordinating these multidisciplinary activities, DigInnoCent ensures that scientific research is translated into practical solutions capable of addressing real-world climate challenges while remaining adaptable to different regional contexts.
Looking Towards Long-Term Impact
As NATURE-DEMO progresses into its implementation phase, DigInnoCent remains focused on ensuring that the project’s outcomes generate lasting value for European regions.
In the coming months, the consortium will continue developing the Digital Support Platform, implementing nature-based solutions at demonstration sites, expanding stakeholder engagement and strengthening cooperation with European policy initiatives.
By combining scientific excellence, digital innovation and practical implementation, NATURE-DEMO is creating knowledge and tools that will help communities better prepare for the impacts of climate change while demonstrating the value of nature-based solutions as a cornerstone of resilient and sustainable development.
